Welcome to The Shibari Lounge.

Please have a read of our t’s & c’s before attending ANY of our events

The Terms and Conditions are necessary to protect both of our interests, apologies for the long wordy points to follow, but it’s all very important for health and safety among other reasons.

1. The Shibari Lounge operates a ‘Leave as Found’ basis and requires all guests to leave the premises clean, tidy and quietly. Please note we are situated in a residential area so expect all attendees to respect the neighbourhood by keeping keeping conversations/voices when entering and leaving the premises quiet and arrive covered up and in ‘vanilla’ clothing to evade any suspicion of what magical fun is happening behind these walls.

2. Smoking indoors is prohibited, please step outside for this but be sure that the door is closed behind you and nobody can see inside.

3. We have tried to create a calm and chilled AuDHD friendly environment that isn’t too overstimulating so please be mindful of noise levels, respect those around you and be aware of your surroundings.

4. We operate a “no shoes on the mats” policy for hygiene reasons. You’ll find an area for coats, shoes and bags as soon as you enter the building where you may keep any belongings which you don’t need to tie/learn with. In order to maximise space in the studio, we suggest leaving any items here but you are welcome to keep valuables on you.

5. Staying hydrated and fed is important, light refreshments and drinks with a cap on ONLY are allowed in the shibari lounge. If you wish for anything else thats a tad messier or risk of spillage then please have these outside of the shibari lounge. We have a fully equipped kitchenette you can use and a sweet station you can dip into for a sugar hit.

6. Photography on your own devices is allowed as long as everyone involved has consented to it, please make sure nobody is in the background.

7. Photography of the exterior of the building is strictly prohibited!

8. The Shibari Lounge reserves the right to request any attendee to review their photo album with them to make sure that no unsolicited photos have been taken. We also reserve the right to request any unsolicited photos be deleted permanently from their device.

9. Be aware that your use of The Shibari Lounge and our equipment is at your own risk and by attending any events here you release and discharge the owners of The Shibari Lounge from any and all liability for injury or fatality occurring from your use of the space. We accept no responsibility for injury caused by improper use of equipment or furniture. You will have access to expensive equipment- we’d be very grateful if you took good care of it.

10. The Shibari Lounge does not tolerate drugs of any kind. We also operate a STRICT no ‘kink and drink’ rule. Failure to comply to this rule WILL result in you being asked to leave and you may not be welcome back. Safety always first!

11. Do not suspend from the hard points unless you have experience with suspension rigging. Please email us if you wish to see the documentations and specs behind the construction of our hard points which shows each items kN rating we have used as well as the math/physics used to work out the safety requirements so the space is strong enough for a potential drop and stop, any partials, dynamic or transitional suspensions up to two tonnes. Please research your own equipment being used as this does not take into account any additional equipment added such as bamboo, slings, rings, carabiners or ROPE etc.

12. Consent is KEY. This applies to photos, touching as well as play. We operate using “P.R.I.C.K.” (Personally Responsibility, Informed, Consensual Kink), “R.A.C.K.” (Risk Aware Consensual Kink) and “S.S.C” (Safe, Sane and Consensual). Please be well aquatinted with the above so there are no misunderstandings or miscommunication between anyone and the fun can continue. If you need any further clarification on consent then please do get in touch.

13. Do NOT interrupt anyone’s scene or aftercare unless there is an emergency- Respect people’s space and also be spacial aware when playing.

14. You must be over the age of 18, agreed to the Ts and C’s and Code of Conduct to enter the premises and participate in any events.
