Studio and Event Booking Guide
Below is everything you need to know before attending an event at Shibari Lounge. We aim to keep the vibe inclusive, low-pressure, and safe for everyone — whether you're coming solo or with friends.
By booking a ticket, attending an event, or entering the venue, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions, Privacy Statement, as well as our Code of Conduct and ticket policy.
Studio Vibe & Etiquette
Quiet arrival & respectful exit
We’re located in a peaceful part of Leigh-on-Sea. Please keep conversations quiet when arriving and leaving, and wear casual ‘vanilla’ clothing to help maintain the privacy of our space.
Rope-focused space
Our events and studio is primarily centred around Photography via Saku Snaps and Shibari rope education, unless otherwise specified. Some sensual rope and light play are welcome, but we’re not a BDSM club. If you're unsure whether something's appropriate, feel free to ask.
Shoes off on the mats
We operate a no-shoes policy on all mat areas. You'll find a space near the entrance to store your coat, bag, and shoes. You're welcome to keep valuables with you.
Calm, neurodivergent-aware environment
We strive to make Shibari Lounge an AuDHD-friendly space that’s low-stimulation and gentle. Please be mindful of noise levels and sensory impact — we’re always happy to accommodate your needs if you let us know.
Refreshments & comfort
Drinks with lids and light snacks are fine inside the studio. We also have a kitchenette and a sweet station for breaks. Cushions, bolsters, and blankets are available to keep you comfy.
Supplies & safety
Please be aware of your own risk profiles. We’ve got EMT shears on hand, and you’re welcome to borrow rope. Just ask a team member if you need anything. All of the Kinbaku essentials can be bought via Sakunawa: The Shibari Shop in-house
Respecting our team & space
Shibari Lounge core team members Bex-Bunny, KinkyK1999 and SpicyDean, alongside our trusted hosts and guest hosts, may ask anyone not following our Code of Conduct or these terms to leave. Our team also includes inf, xLittlePrincess, Sirs-little-miss, Hidden_Shibari, and LadieMel.
Shibari Lounge reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant at any time for breach of these Terms, without refund.
Consent & Conduct
Consent is key
Consent applies to everything — touch, conversation, rope, space, and photographs. We follow the principles of P.R.I.C.K. (Personal Responsibility, Informed, Consensual Kink), R.A.C.K. (Risk Aware Consensual Kink), and S.S.C. (Safe, Sane, and Consensual). If you're not sure what something means, please ask.
Scene etiquette
Do not interrupt active scenes or aftercare, even to compliment or ask questions. Give people room and time to decompress.
Photography & privacy
No photos of the building’s exterior
You may take personal photos only with full consent from all individuals in frame
We may ask to check your gallery if there’s concern about unapproved images
If you’d like to be part of our Shibari Lounge promotional content, let us know! We’ll always confirm again before sharing anything
Use of the Space & Safety
Use at your own risk
By attending, you acknowledge that participation is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shibari Lounge and its representatives disclaim liability for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in events or the use of our space and equipment.
Suspension safety
Do not suspend from our rigging points unless you have prior experience. We are happy to provide documentation on the engineering specs of our suspension points (kN ratings, build specs, etc.). It is your responsibility to assess your own gear, rigging setup, and risk profile, especially when incorporating additional equipment like slings, bamboo, or carabiners.
Drugs & alcohol
We operate a strict no drugs or alcohol (no 'kink and drink') rule unless stated otherwise in the event description. Anyone under the influence will be asked to leave immediately and may be barred from returning.
Ticket Policy
We’re a small, intimate venue with limited capacity, and many of our events sell out. Please read our booking policy below:
Cancel up to 7 days before the event for a full refund (ticket only — booking fees or donations are non-refundable)
No refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before or no-shows
Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear
If we cancel an event, we’ll refund your ticket in full — but we’re not able to reimburse travel or accommodation
To cancel or reschedule, please email us at 📧 hello@shibarilounge.co.uk or manage your own tickets via Ticket Tailor
If it's less than 7 days before the event and you're no longer able to attend, you're welcome to head over to our Discord server and try your luck in the #ticket-exchange channel — sometimes others are looking to take part last-minute!
